Peek A Pooh
(6 weeks to 12 months)
The foundation of our infant room lies in nurturing and caring for our young babies while expanding cognitive skills and social-emotional development. We use a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) approved program (Healthy Beginnings) that specifices appropriate activities for each developmental stage. This approach allows us to serve each baby's phyiscal, mental and social developmental needs. Strategies for this age group include songs, verbal interaction, and the use of manipulatives within the classroom.
We cater to each individual baby's schedule and provide daily reports that show feeding and nap times, and describe daily activities. Our clean and welcoming classroom includes soft areas for movement and play and designated areas for feeding, sleeping and diapering.
After up to 10 months of learning, growing and playing, our babies are typically equipped with the skills needed to continue to build relationships, respond to their name, and recognize and attempt to cause things to happen.
